Summer Evenings and Traditions in the Vineyard
Warm, yes, but July has a way of settling into its own beautiful rhythm as the vines seem to call people out to the vineyard, gathering on the deck or in the tasting room. At this time of year, things are hopping day and night, particularly as guests gather here to take in the stunning view of the sun setting behind the lush greenery.
Really though, the one thing we always love seeing more than that sunset is our guests visibly relaxing and enjoying life. We love seeing them enjoy connection and the tensions of the week just fall off. We couldn’t be more grateful for the opportunity to simply offer the place for that to happen.
While we usually have a number of events, there are some that really have a way of standing out as being truly unique and always incredible. One such event is soon approaching and we really can’t wait to see the groups that will be gathering here on July 26th from 5-9pm.
Fête en Blanc: The Season’s Signature Event
As the month builds, there’s a quiet anticipation around one of Grandview’s most celebrated traditions: Fête en Blanc.
If you have attended this in the past, we don’t even have to tell you what to expect. You already know how much fun this event is. If you’ve never experienced Fête, you’ll surely want to make sure this doesn’t become another year that just passes you by.
This event is elegant without being formal, social without being performative, and deeply enjoyable because everyone gets to make the experience their own.
No, it’s not a gala or even just a “fancy” dinner. Fête invites you to don your favorite white attire, bring an outdoor picnic, and plan to meet friends and family out in the vineyard. Each table is self-styled and each menu self-curated, yet the whole evening always ties together perfectly with a night that feels both elevated and deeply rooted in community.
Some come with coolers and finger foods while others bring full spreads and candles. There’s really not so much a right or wrong way to do it. We’re always thrilled to see the panache each guest brings to the mix.
Adding to the evening, we’ll be featuring music from Downtown Sound. (Yes, dancing is 1000% permitted and even encouraged. No pressure. We just love seeing guests have a truly great time.)

Beyond the Blanc
You’d think after Fête, the energy might taper off. It doesn’t. If anything, the vineyard feels more settled in its stride.
Each week carries a kind of fun fullness that builds with mixed events, live music, and virtually every excuse you need to break away. It’s fun watching guests “unfurl” and unwind with events like Yoga in the Vineyard while others straight cut up over trivia nights and crafting events. As diverse as our guests may be, it’s cool seeing how they all share such a fun zest for life.
The furry faces we see come through on during our Wag & Wine Wednesdays only adds to the fun. It’s so sweet watching pups make their way out to the deck. The new sun shades added are making such a difference for us to all enjoy the warmth without straight roasting in the summer sun. Have you seen them yet? If you’ve ever needed an excuse to step away midweek, this one’s already waiting.
The Vineyard and the Winery Ever At Work
Each month, there’s work to be done to ensure the grapes are well-tended to ensure top quality wines from what gets harvested. In July particularly, as soon as Verasin occurs (grapes begin to get color),
we put the nets down to protect grapes from birds. We couple this with a few extra tricks up our sleeves to keep our feathered friends off these precious gems.
This month also makes the perfect time to start preparing for the bottling we’ll be doing in August as our reds make their way out of their barrels. Of course, they still won’t be available just yet as the wine yet needs to rest another 6 months in the bottles but this is definitely a key milestone in preparing another successful vintage to be ready to pour.
Really, the combination of work and play is what makes the summer such a beautiful time here. We’d surely love to see you here as part of that.
